5 Everyday Shoe Hacks You Need to Know

Our feet are oftentimes subjected to a lot of neglect. Of course, we don’t do it on purpose but it still happens. We’ve heard older folk complain about those constant back aches and we’re starting to feel them ourselves. Now, we may never give up that snazzy pair of shoes that happen to be the prime suspect behind those backaches; but we CAN do something to get around the problem with a few nifty tips and tricks.

Here’s our list of the top 5 shoe hacks you need to know to fix all sorts of little footwear troubles.

  1. 1.       Tight Sneakers

Many of us have wider feet (especially in Asian countries) and new sneakers tend to get a bit too snug. The trick is in the laces: look out for lacing techniques that are looser at the toes where feet are most wide and tighter towards the ankle.

  1. 2.       Uncomfortable Heels

While those glamorous high heels really complete our outfit and give us a shot of confidence, they do a lot of damage by the end of the night. That is because they put tremendous pressure on the balls of our feet. To help with that, use quality foam padding to cushion your feet and tape your 3rd and 4th toes (from the big toe) together to alleviate the pressure. You can thank us later!

  1. 3.       Blisters

Fancy new heels or plain old flats, new shoes almost always bring with them those dreaded blisters. This hack is super easy and very effective. Lubricate the heel of your foot with deodorant or petroleum jelly to reduce friction as you walk – no more blisters!

  1. 4.       Slippery Soles

These things can prove to be extremely dangerous, especially when it is sunny one day and storming the next. Avoid slippery soles by getting your neighbourhood cobbler to install new soles. Go a step ahead and use sandpaper to sand down your soles and add more grip to them.

  1. 5.       The Wrong Shoe Size

While going shoe shopping, we have to take care to find the right comfort-fashion ratio and avoid shoe shopping in the afternoons because your feet are at its largest post noon. If you’ve got different-sized feet, buy a pair that fits the larger foot, and use padding to fit the other shoe to your smaller foot.

Now that you’re armed with all this knowledge, treat yourself to a pair of Paragon shoes – their footwear blends the right amount of comfort with style, perfect for daily wear!
